A highly skilled group of criminals perform the largest cash robbery of the decade on a cash warehouse. What they don’t know is that a large volume of the cash they have stolen was destined for a casino in London which is owned by a head of a large drugs cartel, David Strachen. This puts Strachen in a difficult situation as he doesn’t have enough cash on site to cover the chips on the casino floor. Receiving a anonymous tip, Strachen finds the head of the gang, Dominic Hawke, and threatens him into doing another job because he now owes him. Reluctantly and without choice, Dominic agrees to do the job which involves the robbery of a delivery of drugs which is destined to another competing drug dealer putting Dominic in a rather precarious situation. The story follows Dominic and his carefully crafted plan to accomplish his goals whilst trying to stay one step ahead to save his life and the lives of his crew. A cruel twist of fate though threatens Dominic's plans and everything changes...

Dean Hodge AKA “The Sandman”, is a talented darts player moving up the PDC ranks. Walking on to Metallica's “Enter Sandman” he has the trophy girlfriend and a unique skill for the game. Enjoying the lifestyle the game afforded, money started going out quicker than it was coming in. Now betting on his own performances through some unscrupulous bookies to make up the shortfall and using a loan shark for a quick fix, his debts spiral beyond control. A chance meeting with a darting legend offers some hope as he is forced to play in an underground darts match to earn his way back out of the debt he owes. A plan is forged to secure his future as his life is threatened but things go badly wrong when Dean's pride takes over. A dead body, stolen cash and a bookie on the war path lead Dean and his best mate Liam into taking some drastic action. Things go from bad to worse when things don't go quite according to plan and Dean realizes that he's just been used as a pawn in a much bigger game.

Cock It & Pull It is an excellent first novel from a new author. Taking influence from some of the greatest British heist movies, Cock It's plot comprises of twists, turns, double crossings and surprises a plenty. As well as a great story line, the author introduces each character and scene with great detail.
I will definitely be looking out for future books from Peter Janes and look forward to seeing his writing style develop. More...
