This is a tricky one! As a new author, getting media attention is virtually impossible - not completely impossible but virtually. So, I need to start somewhere and the local media is one of the best area's to start so this is where I'm focussing my attentions at the moment. I also thought about running adverts in magazines. Brilliant idea! That is, until, you start analysing the costs... one magazine (I won't mention which one) wanted a smidgen, and was only just a small smidgen, over £20,000 for a full page advert. Whoa! Now I know how these publications really make their money! Outside of that, if you want a smaller advert, you still have to come up with thousands of pounds unless you can put up with a slot the size of a well proportioned postage stamp. Hmmn, time to re-think, or, walk into my local bank and assert my intention for a hostile re-appropriation of funds in my favour. I could throw my books at them whilst I do so, then get arrested, appear on the 6 o'clock news labelled as the "novel bank robber", get boat loads of publicity and sell loads of books. Now this is probably a shade too far in my opinion but it does beg the thought though; if I could come up with a unique or quirky publicity stunt. positively or negatively it would work in my favour! So, the thinking cap is on! In the mean time though, more conventional publicity arrangements are the order of the day. This page is dedicated to event or press activity past and present. Here I'll be listing news and updates as to what's happening and also items that have already happened or any snippets of media information! Live Radio Interview I was on www.unity101.org on the 28th October 2009 participating in an interview about me and 'Cock it & Pull it' which was streamed live over the internet and on 101.1FM!
